Yet another way to worship...

As the Director of Missions, single and without children, I have a whole new level of respect for those moms and dads who have color-coded, complex, family calendars posted on their refrigerators. Basketball practice here, recital there, tennis lesson here, play date there. So many events, appointments, and vacations consume us and crowd our minds that there's no way our brains can contain and recall them all unless we have them written down and displayed for constant reminding!

We're finding the same thing to be true for ACF Missions this summer! If we had a revolving door to our humble mission headquarters, "the trailer," it would never cease spinning throughout the summer months! A bullet point list hangs above my desk informing me what group is where, and when the next group arrives and leaves. I glance at it constantly, hoping no one decides to give me a pop quiz on mission events and trip dates.

This new blog is our attempt to not only keep you informed on what's going on in missions, but also how God is changing lives here at ACF through missions. Following mission trips, we will ask members from various teams to submit articles sharing their experiences and how they saw God move mightily. We will post pictures and slide-shows, calendars of events, quotes, recommended books to read and who knows what else! We recognize this first and foremost, as a great way to bring attention to the Lord and the amazing things He is doing here in Austin and around the world!

We're excited to be bloggers, so please feel free to make comments, ask questions, and add suggestions. This is yet another way we are given the opportunity to worship God and to glorify His name. That's really why this blogspot exists!!!
